Wowee! My very first column on Windows Mobile Italy!Let's get right down to business, shall we? Let's explore what's hot in the world Windows Mobile this week:
At the top of my list of hot topics, is the rampant rumour that Microsoft will be getting its own branded phone (Maybe a Zune phone? Maybe something even cooler?) - sadly, most sources near and dear to Microsoft are denying these rumours.
Jessica Hodgson from Dow Jones Newswires just today reported that 'Contrary to rampant market speculation, software giant Microsoft Corp. has no plans to launch a branded mobile smartphone, a person familiar with the company's thinking said Tuesday.'
Boo! How cool would an NVIDIA + 700mhz Tegra processor powered Zune phone be? Very cool.
But, hey, here's some food for thought - why would Microsoft buy Danger for $500 million dollars? I, personally, will be very disappointed if Microsoft doesn't make the most of its Danger buyout. There's so much potential there!
Also on the list - devices! All kinds of awesome Windows Mobile devices coming out these days! The Samsung OMNIA, Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, and the HTC Touch Pro are making big waves here in the North American market with carrier branded phones left and right! Makes my holiday gift wish list longer and longer each time!
All of these devices are power houses for Windows Mobile - sporting QWERTY keyboards (Xperia X1, Touch Pro), sweet cameras, and TouchFLO 3D. With industry moves like these, it's easy to see why Windows Mobile is gaining such attention lately!
